When we started getting into homesteading during the corona-pocalypse, I had everything saved to my Pinterest account. But one day I realized all the Pinterest pins in the world wouldn't be helpful if I was at our off-grid property or didn't have internet access. None of that information is helpful if you haven't gotten enough time to memorize it or have a physical copy to reference.
This is when we started collecting homesteading type books so that we could always have the information, even if we didn't have internet for one reason or another. Here's some of my favorite books I own...
General Homesteading
The Self-Sufficient Backyard -this is on order and I can't wait to get the physical copy of this and the 3 digital copies extras they're offering. Go check out this page for more testimonials and the free offers. You can also grab this book off of amazon but you won't get the 3 free digital books that come with it directly through their website.
The Encyclopedia of Country Living -literally anything you could need to know so it's a great stand alone purchase just like self-sufficient backyard if you want something that covers a little bit of everything.
Ready Farmer One -Seriously you need to own this book and listen to Diego Footers podcasts because he is such a wealth of information!
Herbal Medicine
The Lost Book of Herbal Remedies this one is fantastic as I'm learning herbal medicine through online courses and anytime I need to look up a specific plant or medical condition I refer to this book.
All Things Preserving:
Guide to Preserving -The ultimate guided for creating your own signature foods with over 500 recipes from Ball which is honestly, one of the best sources you can get for food preservation.
Ball Complete Book of Home Preserving-I have so many sticky notes sticking out of this book! And this isn't a skill that comes naturally to me so it was really important to me to have a physical copy for when my mother-in-law won't always be around to help me with canning etc.
